Common Voice Uyghur Speech Donation Contest

We are happy to announce the Common Voice Uyghur Speech Donation Contest, running from October until New Year. As a non-profit group supporting open-source language tools, we have been working to grow the Common Voice Uyghur dataset.

Thanks to support from Mozilla’s Common Voice Honorarium Fund, this contest aims to expand the Uyghur speech dataset with more voices and more diversity. Right now, the dataset already has over 500 hours of recordings from more than 1,800 people. Through this contest, we want to invite even more contributors to take part.

Participants will help by recording pre-written Uyghur sentences. Those who contribute the most will be recognized and awarded.

We warmly encourage all Uyghur speakers and friends of the language to join us in this effort to protect and develop Uyghur in the digital age.

📢 More details about the contest will be shared soon on our Facebook community page.
